“It was foretold that when Christ should come to save us, the eyes of the blind shall be opened” (T.B. Joshua). As it was, so it is…

| T.B. Joshua showing the anointed water |
|
March has been an exciting month at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations. God has continued to reveal His mighty power to the world – power to heal, power to deliver, power to set free, through His servant, T.B. Joshua. To know God’s presence is to know God’s power. When God moves, power moves and we certainly saw a mighty move of God’s power during the live healing service on Saturday, February 28th 2009 at The SCOAN. It was a day never to be forgotten by Mrs. Grace Ngugu and her sister, Cecelia Edoh. Mrs. Grace Ngugu, who was suffering from blindness due to cataracts for the past four years, was brought to The SCOAN by her sister, Cecelia Edoh. Being unable to see her husband, children and other loved ones for the past four years, due to this condition of blindness, was more than Mrs. Grace Ngugu could bear. “I have been running up and down from hospital to hospital - no solution”, she said during an interview with The SCOAN. When asked about her children, Mrs. Ngugu said, “I last saw my children four years ago. When they come back from school, I will be hearing their voices, touching them, using my hands to feel how tall they are”.
Undoubtedly, Mrs. Ngugu’s blindness affected her entire life and her family. Her sister Cecelia commented, “It has affected us seriously because she is the pillar of the house. There is nothing she can do. I’m doing everything for her”. Previously independent and running her own business, Mrs. Ngugu was forced to give up work due to this debilitating problem of blindness. What’s more, Mrs. Ngugu had been booked for an operation - with no guarantee that her sight would ever be restored. Life seemed completely hopeless for Mrs. Ngugu who soon discovered that when faith’s light goes out, life becomes a weary road. Hope, however, came when Mrs. Ngugu’s husband stumbled across Emmanuel TV and saw how God was using T.B. Joshua to heal and deliver the sick. He immediately recommended that his wife pay a visit to The SCOAN, believing that here was her only hope.
Sitting in the prayer line, as the man of God approached Mrs. Ngugu, her sister Cecilia began to cry out, pleading, “Man of God, help my sister. She cannot see for four years!” Stirred by the voice of her sister which indicated to her that the man of God was in close proximity, Mrs. Ngugu also began to cry out, “I cannot see; man of God, help me! I am not seeing for four years now. I have been suffering!” The congregation and viewers worldwide watched in eager anticipation of what was about to happen. T.B. Joshua, holding a bottle of anointed water, sprayed some of its contents into Mrs. Ngugu’s eyes while proclaiming, “In the name of Jesus”.
There are no natural words to describe what took place in the event following. Astounding everyone and pointing to her sister Cecilia, Mrs. Ngugu screamed, “My sister, I can see you!” The years of Mrs. Grace Ngugu’s suffering were over - her blind eyes had been made to see! Shouts of joy and praise thundered in The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations as the congregation witnessed the power and anointing of God working in the Spirit. Mrs. Ngugu knelt down and threw up her arms in praise and adoration to God. It was a miracle indeed. At the instruction of the man of God that she should run after her sister, Mrs. Ngugu began to chase her sister Cecilia around the church while praising God for the miraculous transformation He had brought to her life. She then proceeded to run after the man of God himself, chasing him through the church proving to the world that, “Once I was blind but now I can see!”
Later, when asked by T.B. Joshua how she felt when the anointed water was sprayed into her eyes, Mrs. Ngugu told us, “I was feeling cold and hot. The first time it went into my ear and then my throat. Then I began to feel cold in my body. Then immediately I started seeing”.
With the atmosphere charged, faith lifted and expectations raised following the remarkable miracle of Mrs. Ngugu, it’s not surprising that an equally awesome miracle occurred, this time involving a four year old toddler named Joshua. Joshua Nosike from Anambra state, Nigeria was brought to The SCOAN by his parents with the problem of an inability to eat or swallow, following an intake of acid. Joshua’s father had explained that his son had drunk acid which had blocked and damaged his throat and that despite undergoing an operation, Joshua’s ‘passage’ had remained blocked. Consequently, Joshua had to have a large spiral tube fixed to his nose. This conspicuous tube which covered a large section of Joshua’s face, passed from his nose to his intestines and was a constant reminder to Joshua’s parents that their son could not live a normal life. During a former interview, Joshua’s mother demonstrated how she used a syringe to feed Joshua, who could only take liquids through the tube attached to his nose - a painful process for any mother to administer.
During the prayer line, little Joshua stood insecurely between his father’s legs while his father shouted out, “Man of God, help us. My son drank acid. He can no longer feed through his mouth”. His appeal was met with words of assurance from the prophet who approached Joshua and his father holding the same bottle of anointed water which he had used for Mrs. Ngugu. “Don’t worry, I will spray the anointed water and he will start eating through his mouth now. After spraying this water, the Lord will operate the entrance and he will eat through the mouth. You can take him to the hospital and remove the pipe so he can live a normal life”. Joshua’s father breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing these words and together with the congregation, gave thanks to God. All watched expectantly as T.B. Joshua sprayed the anointed water on the face of the little boy and asked him to drink it.
Moments after the prayer, the entire congregation and viewers of the live service witnessed the historic event - Joshua’s father fed his son through his mouth for the first time in four years. Joshua was seen eating solid food and drinking through his mouth – something he was unable to do before. The congregation and Joshua’s father could hardly contain their joy and excitement at this instantaneous miracle. When the power of God is present, healing is like breathing. The name Jesus is power indeed but only among those who are committed to the glory of God.
“It is not the water that heals but God Himself since the anointing is done in Jesus’ name. The water is just a symbol, not the power.” T.B. Joshua
“Can you see why it is water? If it is perfume, we cannot spray it in people’s faces, it can damage. So, if it is perfume, we cannot spray it on the sore. If it is perfume, you cannot drink, you cannot spray it in your mouth. Can you see the reason why God gave us water instead of oil? Even oil, you cannot spray oil in your eyes…so that you can drink, you can spray it in your eyes, you can spray it anywhere – it’s for everything. Some people they don’t like odour – odour of perfume but everybody loves water. So, this is why God gave us water. It’s pure water. I prayed, God anoint this water and the water is anointed. That is all, it’s pure water." (T.B. Joshua)
